100% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) from the Cigales DO in the Castilla y León region of Spain. Grapes are macerated for 14 days, malolactic fermentation, aged 6 months in French oak barrels and 12 months minimum in bottle. The grapes come from the single vineyard of Tres Cuestas (“three slopes”) in Mucientes, a 40-year-old clay soils vineyard located at an altitude of 780m above sea level. It’s a gorgeous organic wine with red fruit notes, licorice, wild herbs, toasted and spicy notes. There’s an intensity but elegance, with fine tannins and a long finish.
