Stefan Vetter | 2021 Müller Thurgau Steinterrassen | $44 x 6 bottles
Stefan Vetter | 2021 Müller Thurgau Steinterrassen | $44 x 6 bottles
This is how Müller-Thurgau can taste: straightforward, juicy, taut and bone-dry! Stefan Vetter shows off his filigree and minimalist-sparse style with this variety as well. The result in this single vineyard Müller-Thurgau is a delicate nose of citrus, green apple and a subtle floral touch, as well as subtle ripe fruit and a lot of freshness, very lively and agile. On the palate, the wine also shows a lot of finesse and the fine Müller appears almost sinewy and with very lively juiciness, slim and light-footed, again citrus and some rose petals, remains straightforward and rather subtle in its expression. (Tech sheet and other notes below)
Take note: Even if Stefan Vetter only vinifies the bread and butter grape varieties from Franconia, these are hardly comparable to any other representative of the variety. His wines stand for themselves and are razor-sharp and acid driven across the board! We love and appreciate this style, and while we still love conventional Müller-Thurgau, you won’t find that here.
